Hello, everyone! Welcome to General Measure's channel. In this video, we will show you how to troubleshoot abnormal reject operation on a checkweigher.
During checkweigher operation, reject-related faults can generally be divided into two situation (using the CW-3K checkweigher as an example):
No reject action or abnormal reject action.
I. No Reject Action
If a reject signal has already been triggered but the reject mechanism does not operate, there are usually two possible causes:
1. Incorrect I/O Point Parameter Settings
First, enter the I/O Settings and check whether the reject corresponding I/O point is defined correctly:
• “NG Reject,” “Overweight Reject,” or “Underweight Reject.”
【Example: For a pusher rejector, set K3 to “NG Reject.”
For a dual swing-arm rejector, set K3 to “Overweight Reject” and K4 to “Underweight Reject.” Define the functions according to the actual configuration.】
If the I/O point is defined incorrectly, reset it to the correct function.
After confirming that the I/O parameters are correct, check whether the solenoid valve wiring is correct. Then test the reject function. If it operates normally, troubleshooting is complete. If not, proceed to the next step.
2. Control Board or Solenoid Valve Failure
A multimeter and a flat-head screwdriver are required for this procedure.
Next, check the control board and solenoid valve.
Follow these steps:
① Make sure the machine has a normal compressed-air supply and the solenoid valve is in its default state. Manually press the forced-output button on the solenoid valve and check whether the rejector operates normally. (Manually adjust the air pressure to above 0.4 MPa.)
If the action is abnormal (slow or no response), replace the solenoid valve body.
If it operates normally, proceed to the next step.
② On the touchscreen, enter the “I/O” parameter and force to output the reject function. Then use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the corresponding output point on the control board. The normal voltage should be DC 24 V ±10%. Take output points K3 and K4 as examples:
If the voltage is abnormal, the control board may be faulty and should be replaced.
If the voltage is normal, proceed to the next step.
③ Next, disconnect the positive and negative wires from the solenoid valve and use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the two wires. The normal resistance should be 180–200 Ω.
If the resistance is abnormal, the solenoid valve coil may be damaged and should be replaced.
If the resistance is normal but the reject mechanism still does not operate, check the wiring at the solenoid valve and reconnect it as necessary.
【Common wiring issues: reversed positive/negative connections, or poor contact—for example, the terminal may clamp onto the wire insulation when no crimp terminal is used.】
II. Abnormal Reject Action
If a reject signal is triggered but the actual reject action is abnormal, it is usually in two ways:
In either case, enter the Product Parameter Settings and adjust the corresponding “Reject Distance” and “Reject Time” parameters according to actual operating conditions. (The higher the checkweighing speed, the shorter the reject distance should be; the lower the speed, the longer the reject distance should be.)
Then perform a reject test. Once the reject operation is normal, troubleshooting is complete.
