Bagging Scale Troubleshooting - Unstable Weight Display

Published: 2026-10-14 Article source:

Hello, welcome to General Measure's channel. In this video, we will show you how to troubleshoot an unstable weight display on a bagging scale.

If the weight display of the bagging scale is unstable, first check whether the millivolt (mV) reading on the Calibration page is stable:

I. The stable zero-point mV reading and the unstable weight

If the zero-point mV reading is stable but the displayed weight remains unstable, there are usually two possible causes:

1. The calibration weight entered does not match the actual test weight

Recalibrate the scale: tap Zero Calibration -> place the test weight on the scale -> enter the actual test weight -> tap Weight Calibration.

2. Controller board failure

If the weight remains unstable after recalibration, the controller board may be faulty. Replace the controller board.

II. An unstable zero-point mV reading causes the fluctuate weight

If the zero-point mV reading is unstable and causes the displayed weight to fluctuate, there are usually three possible causes:

1. External interference

If abnormal weight fluctuations occur on site, first check the operating environment for external interference. Because our bagging scale provides high weighing accuracy, it is sensitive to environmental interference, including:

(1) Direct airflow from large industrial cooling fans;

(2) Installation in an area with significant airflow fluctuations;

(3) Floor vibration caused by nearby operating equipment.

If the external interference is minor, reduce its effect by adjusting the filtering parameters and closing all sealed doors on the scale.

If the filter doesn't work, the external interference is too strong. Eliminate or avoid the interference so that the equipment can operate in a stable environment.

2. Mechanical interference

Check whether the weigh hopper inside the bagging scale is suspended and isolated from other components.

The weigh hopper must not contact surrounding structural or other mechanical components, as contact may cause weight fluctuations.

3. Load cell failure

If the zero-point mV reading on the Calibration page continues to fluctuate after external and mechanical interference have been ruled out, the load cell may be faulty and should be replaced.

Finally, if multiple bagging scales of the same model are available on site, performing a component swap test between the units can quickly identify the problem.

That concludes this troubleshooting guide. If you would like to learn more about other product functions, please contact General Measure.
